My 2004 Chevy Colorado won't stay running.?

My 2004 Chevy Colorado pickup will start but as soon as I release the key, the engine will immediately die. It starts just like it should but won't stay running. There were no problems with it when I parked it yesterday and there were no warning lights on the dash. There is about 60,000 miles on the pickup.
