Xbox 360 dash bord problems?

It's an update that came out of nowwhere first my xbox started saying it could only show my frends and stuff was unavalubel so I dident think enything about it now it's completely kicked me off saying it needs and update but the update is not avalibel yet my frends are on perfectally and I've tryed readying my router
